I believe it’s true what they say, a cook’s best tool is clean hands.
That being said, there is a lot more stuff you need in the kitchen in order to create culinary masterpieces – or even to just make mac and cheese. One of the things I’m often asked is “What kind of pots and pans do you use?”, “How much money should I spend on ______?”, these are all important things to consider. In this forum, I’ll share with you the kinds of things I like to use in the kitchen. Which items you should spend a pretty penny for, and which ones you can get relatively inexpensively. Please keep in mind that these are just my opinions and are based on my personal use of said equipment. I also like to do research before I buy something. Cooks Illustrated has an amazing site and they do equipment testing. I always say they are the Consumer Reports of the cooking world.
My first post in this space will be on colanders, aka. strainers. It’s a video post that was filmed earlier.
Enjoy!
Fantastic, David!
Your videographer is a bit of a genius, I must say.
and humble too!
I’m relaly into it, thanks for this great stuff!
I know that isn’t Kevin and Scott’s kitchen!! Looking good movie star!
You nailed it perfectly Mr Anderson! I have that “bad” colander and I agree with all the things you said are problems :)…… and that certainly means a lot coming from a pasta cooker like me 🙂
Love you! This blog is a blast!
